It’s the final day of 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS CAKES!!! Here’s a Red Velvet Cake for 12 drummer drumming!!!
Wow!!! It’s finally done!! 12 days of Christmas Cakes!!! It was fun, challenging, a bit nerve wrecking, delicious, fun to give out, and a great learning curve!!! I love doing this every year and I really do learn a lot every year. And I get to taste a lot of delicious baked goods!! It’s a win-win!! ?
In case you missed all the other days, here is the 12 Days of Christmas lyric and cake combination!!!
A partridge in a pear tree – Pear Cake
Two turtle doves – Petit Four Pound Cake
Three french hens – Banana Cake with Salted Caramel Frosting
Four calling birds – Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Frosting
Five gold rings – Champagne Ring Cake
Six geese a-laying – Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
Seven swans a-swimming – White Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Frosting

Nine ladies dancing – Maple Cake with 7 minute Frosting
Ten lords a-leaping – 10 layer Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake
Eleven pipers piping – Snickerdoodle Cake
Twelve drummers drumming – Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
I hope I translate each day to each cake well!! It took a lot of research and a lot of testing but it really is satisfying to see the results each day.
Fun fact!! There is actually a company called PNC Financial Index that calculated the price of 12 days of christmas items cost each year. It’s a fun article to read!! So they don’t just do each day, they actually add up each day plus the days before!! Would you like to know the total price?? It a whopping $194,502.72!!! Whoaaaa!!! 12 days of Christmas Cakes is surely cheaper than that!!! ?
Also, if my family and friends are wondering my Christmas wishlist, I really don’t want much. Only the Tiffany 12 Days of Christmas advent calendar please. It’s only $112,000. ? ? ?
It does have soooo many pretty things!!! But all kidding aside, I feel blessed that I’m able to make this project that I’ve been planning for months to fruition. And thank you to my followers for the support and the kinds words during these 12 days!!! Now let’s make a cake!!
This Red velvet recipe, outside of preparation of the oven, pan and making of the cream cheese, really only has 2 steps. Really!! Just 2. I’ll show you the proof!! Mix all the wet ingredients of eggs, buttermilk, red food coloring, oil, vinegar, vanilla extract in the stand mixer bowl.
Then add the dry ingredients slowly into the bowl.
That is it!!! Here’s the batter that’s ready to be baked!!
After the cake is baked and cooled, level and stack with cream cheese frosting in the middle.
Then frost the whole cake.
Now you can enjoy it as is so but since this is 12 Drummers drumming, I covered the cake with fondant and made my very own drum!!
What an amazing way to celebrate 12 days of Christmas!! See you on the next post!!
Happy Baking!!
