Stained Glass Cookies
Here’s something to impress your friends and family!! A delicious sugar cookie that’s baked with hard candies to make a beautiful stained glass cookie!!
Instructions
  1. In a stand mixer bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, and salt. While the mixer is in low speed, add butter I tbsp at a time.
  2. Add the cream cheese and vanilla extract until the dough comes together into clumps.
  3. Dump the dough onto a clean surface and knead until it comes to a ball. Shape into 2 discs and wrap with plastic wrap. Chill for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 days.
  4. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  5. Roll out the dough in between 2 parchment paper. Put unto the baking sheet and refrigerate for about 10 minutes.
  6. Remove top piece of the parchment. Cut out the shape what you’d like and place unto the lined baking sheets. Cut a smaller piece in the middle for the hard candy.
  7. Bake cookies for 5 minutes. Fill the center with the crushed candies, rotate and bake again for 5 minutes.
  8. Let cookies cool in baking sheet for 10 minutes so the rock candies can Harden. Cool completely before serving.
