Petit Four Pound Cake
Mini dessert that’s easy to make!! Using a pound cake recipe, this Petit four is simple to make yet looks beautiful.

Ingredients
Pound cake

cups
flour
1/2
tsp
baking powder
1/2
tsp
fine salt
1

butter
room temperature
1/2
cup
vegetable shortening
3
cups
sugar
5
eggs
room temperature

milk
room temperature

teaspoon
vanilla extract
Chocolate Glaze
1
cup
candy melt
1
tbsp
shortening
1
tbsp
shortening
Instructions
Pound Cake
Preheat oven to 350 °F. Grease 2 9×13 baking sheet with butter.
In a medium bowl, mix together flour, baking powder and salt. This is the dry mixture.
In a stand mixer, cream butter and shortening together.
While the machine is in low speed, add sugar a little at a time.
Then, add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each one.
Alternatively add the dry mixture then the milk. Start with the dry mixture and end with the dry mixture.
Mix in vanilla.
Pour into a greased pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted. After it’s cooled, cut it into circles using the biscuit cutter.
Chocolate Glaze
Put the candy melt and shortening in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat up 30 seconds increments until the candy melt is smooth and melted.
Pour the candy melt on the cake.
Put more chocolate decorations on top. Repeat the process until all the pound cake are covered.
