Chocolate Cut-Out Cookies
A delicious chocolaty cookies with an easy to make icing!! Shape them to anything you want and with any holidays.

Chocolate Cut-out Cookies
  1. In a medium bowl, sift the flour, cocoa powder, and salt together.
  2. In the bowl of an stand mixer, cream butter and sugar together until it’s light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg and vanilla extracts and mix. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until it comes together and forms the dough.
  4. Place the dough on a piece of plastic wrap and shape into a disk. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour.
  5. On a well floured surface, roll half of the dough out to about 1/4 of an inch thick. Cut out with the cookie cutter and then transfer them to parchment-lined baking sheets. Re-roll the scraps of dough and repeat.
  6. Chill the cut out cookies for about 10 minutes in the refrigerator.
  7. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and bake for about 11 minutes. The cookie should look dry but not burnt.
  8. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet, and then transfer to a cooling rack. Cool completely before icing or dipping.
Royal Icing
  1. In a stand mixer bowl with a whisk attachment, mix all the ingredient together for about 5 minutes. The icing should form a ribbon when you lift up the head of the mixer. Add more water if you need it to be thinner. Add more powdered sugar if you need it to be thicker.
