On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, Christmas Cookie Bar!!!! Instead of cookies, how about giving Santa one of the 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS BAKING treats? 🙂
If you love cookies but you want to spruce things up, here is one recipe that is perfect for you. It’s a really easy to make in under 1 hour, you have most of the ingredients in your pantry, and this is a fun recipe to make with kids. I made them for my son’s baseball and soccer team and they just love it. The coaches love it too!! 😛
When I tested out this recipe, I actually did it in October so they didn’t have the Christmas m&m’s yet. So I bought two bags of mini m7m’s and pick out all the green and red m&m’s. The things I do for the blog!!! 😛 But it was fun and easy and it didn’t take a long time. It’s a really all season kind of dessert and you can change up the colors by changing up the m&m’s that you are going to use. Red for valentine, red white and blue for 4th of July, etc.
If you’re a chocolate lover, I bet that picture just makes you want to do your happy dance, right?? Mini chocolate chips and mini m&m’s. Or maybe you would be happier if the chocolate is in its normalize. You might say, “What is this crazy talk about using mini chocolate?” 😛
You want to make the dough really pressed down and compact. You can use your fingers and push it down but I found that my fingers makes indentation on the bars. So I usually press it down with my fingers and then kind of smooth it out with the bottom of a measuring cup. After that you can put the reserves m&m’s on top so the color really pops. I can’t wait to get into this pan and eat them!!
Tips for making this Christmas Cookie Bar:
- Let it really cool before you cut into it. You can use a knife or even a pizza cutter.
Happy baking!!!
