Wow!! 17 years do fly by fast!!! I can’t believe that my son is already graduating high school. My first baby is about to go off to his new adventure! It’s a mixed feeling and a roller coaster of emotions but most of them is happy and feeling proud of what he has accomplished.
This cake is made with my all time favorite chocolate cake that I double layered and cover with vanilla frosting. Very easy to do and it’s a crowd pleaser!! After make it, comes the fun part, decorating it with buttercream flowers
So I make the flowers ahead and put them in the fridge. Two reasons why I do that. The first one is because it is easier to handle or to transfer to the cake because it’s already stiff. The second reason is because I can make a bunch and just start putting them without stopping. You don’t want the flow of creativity to stop!!?
After I put the ones that I like, I looked at it and looked a little sparse. So I add dots of green buttercream frosting to fill the gaps and it makes the flowers come to life!!!
And here is the finished products!!! Of course you can any kind of flowers you like and if you are doing this cake for a wedding, you can even match it with the bouquet! How fun!!
